The Rant-part 1 (Kat)

You know when you see some girl in a mini-mini skirt, and a tank top, and a push up bra, and heels, in November, and all you are thinking is What the hell is she doing? Who is she trying to impress?
Thus begins a series of posts about why girls dress the way they do, and what they think they are accomplishing by doing that.

I think a lot of times, girls think that to get something, they have to look the part. More specifically, pressure to dress a certain way to get a guy. (Or a girl, but i feel like there is less so).  There is this feeling in the media about owing it to your guy to be pretty, to dress sexy, to wear his favorite color. According to the magazine Seventeen, the number one way to get your crush is to "Be confident with this hot look!" Let this not be mistaken with being confident just the way you are, your crush would hate that.

I'm not saying that clothes don't give you confidence, or that you shouldn't wear something that makes you feel pretty. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you are already pretty, and you should dress however you want because you feel like it. Wear makeup because you like the way you look in it, but also like the way you look without it. Confidence shouldn't be stilettos, or lipstick, or Spanx, it should be the assurance that you are amazing, and stunning, and pretty on the inside and out.
